Description

Hetaone’s “Time of Life” is a deep exploration of the themes of mortality and the passage of time, made with a combination of mixed techniques on a personal invoice support torn and glued again. These fragments of invoices, printed several times with the words “Time of Life”, serve as textual and symbolic background, anchoring the work in the tangible reality of everyday life.

In the foreground, a form reminiscent of a graffiti letter stands out with its bright white color, contrasting sharply with the background loaded with texts and textures. This letter, marked by cracks, symbolizes the fragility and vulnerability inherent in human existence, a visual reminder of the inevitable degradation of time.

At the center of this dynamic composition, a skull emerges, a recurring motif in Hetaone’s work. It imposes an unavoidably universal presence. The juxtaposition of the skull with graffiti lettering creates a visual and thematic tension, It is a combination of elements of urban culture and classic symbols of vanity and mortality.

The frame, painted in the continuity of the work, incorporates touches of spray paint, fusing the content of the work with its physical limits. This integration of the frame into the work itself blurs the boundaries between the drawing and its container, reinforcing the idea that the themes explored go beyond the traditional limits of art and extend to our entire existence.

The use of walnut brou and spray paint adds varied textures and color bursts that energize the composition, while emphasizing the raw and organic nature of the materials used. These elements create a depth and visual richness that captivate the eye and invite introspective reflection.

In short, “Time of Life” is a work that encapsulates the artist’s existential concerns, expressed through technical mastery and sensitivity to materiality. It offers a meditation on time, life and mortality, while celebrating the aesthetics of graffiti culture and the impermanence of our everyday world.
